About Medalta

Medalta is a European microbiome company. We develop microbiome-derived products — from everyday synbiotics to clinic-grade and anti-inflammatory formulations — built on characterised bacterial strains, dose-justified actives and a formulation discipline borrowed from pharmaceuticals rather than supplements.

Three lines, one biological logic. Biomie is everyday microbiome support for adults and children. Pro Biomie is higher-strength, clinic-channel formulations for specific needs — urinary, gastric and inflammatory. Inflomega is our flagship anti-inflammatory programme — postbiotic-derived and omega-stabilised.

We use characterised strains with documented mechanisms, justify every dose against the clinical literature, and manufacture to pharmaceutical-grade standards — GMP and ISO 22000 with HACCP-controlled supply and full batch documentation. Most food-supplement brands do none of these.

In certified European facilities under GMP and ISO 22000, with HACCP-controlled supply chains, full batch documentation and potency verified through shelf life. Medalta International ZRT is EU GMP-registered and headquartered in Csomád, Hungary.

The science

The microbiome is the ecosystem of trillions of microorganisms living in and on your body, most of them in the gut. It plays a central role in digestion, immunity, metabolism and even mood regulation — which is why supporting it well can have effects far beyond the gut.

Probiotics are live beneficial bacteria. Prebiotics are fibres that feed them. Postbiotics are the bioactive compounds bacteria produce during fermentation — they deliver benefits without requiring live organisms, which is the principle behind our Inflomega programme.

A synbiotic combines probiotics and prebiotics in one formulation, designed so the prebiotic fibre selectively feeds the co-administered strains. Biomie Daily Premium is a synbiotic: ten characterised strains paired with a prebiotic fibre blend.

A characterised strain is identified down to the strain level — not just genus and species — and has documented properties: survival through the gut, mechanism of action and, ideally, clinical data. It is the difference between simply listing a species on a label and standing behind a specific, studied strain.

There is no universal number. What matters is strain characterisation, clinical evidence for the specific combination, and potency verified through shelf life — not a high CFU count alone. As a reference, Biomie Daily Premium delivers ten characterised strains and twenty billion live cultures (CFU) per capsule.

Choosing & taking your product

For everyday digestion and immunity, start with Biomie Daily Premium. For children from six months, Biomie Kids. For acute upset or travel, Biomie SOS. For a specific concern — urinary, gastric or inflammatory — the Pro Biomie line is co-developed with clinicians, and Inflomega is our dedicated anti-inflammatory programme. When in doubt, ask your practitioner or write to us.

Most people report noticeable changes within two to four weeks of consistent use. Microbiome remodelling is gradual — meaningful shifts in composition typically take four to eight weeks, so daily consistency matters more than dose.

One capsule daily, with or without food, ideally at the same time each day. Morning intake on an empty stomach can improve strain survival through the gastric environment, though the acid-resistant DRcaps® capsule is built to protect the cultures either way.

Yes, but separate intake from the antibiotic by at least two hours, since direct contact can reduce viability. Taking probiotics alongside a course helps maintain microbiome diversity — and we make a formulation designed specifically to support the gut during and after antibiotic treatment.

Most, including Biomie Daily Premium, are stability-tested at room temperature through shelf life — just keep them cool, dry and out of direct sunlight. A few specialised formulations may carry different storage instructions, so always follow the label.

Yes — Biomie Kids is a powder synbiotic formulated for children from six months, with nine probiotic strains and FOS prebiotic fibre in a single daily sachet that mixes into food or a cold drink. Adult formulations are not intended for young children without medical supervision.

Safety & suitability

Mild bloating or digestive adjustment can occur in the first few days as the microbiome adapts. This is normal and usually settles within a week. If discomfort persists, stop and consult a healthcare professional.

Our strains have strong safety profiles, but individual medical advice always comes first — please consult your healthcare provider before starting any supplement during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Biomie and Pro Biomie capsules use plant-based DRcaps® (HPMC) shells with no animal-derived ingredients, and Biomie Kids is a powder. Full ingredient and allergen declarations are printed on every pack — check the label if you have a specific allergy.

People with severely compromised immune systems or on immunosuppressive therapy should consult a physician before use. Adult formulations are not intended for children under three without medical supervision; for younger children, use Biomie Kids from six months.

Probiotics are generally well tolerated, but if you take prescription medication or have a chronic condition, check with your doctor or pharmacist first — particularly around timing with antibiotics or any immunosuppressive therapy.
